Enchanted Forest
Sound has an undeniable impact on how we behave, how we feel, how we learn and also on our physical condition. It gives meaning to the world around us and confirms our presence in the environment. With sound we can tell stories and affect emotions. We use sound to communicate, to navigate, to give us the feeling of presence, to entertain us, to feel good and to give us strength. The way we use sound in our daily lives is vital and so natural that we take it for granted that sound will always be there. But in the creation of digital worlds, without the addition of sound sources, there is absolute silence. So we need to start thinking about what sound sources we want to add to these worlds, what functionality they have and what added value they bring to that world. In this experience I explore the possibilities to use audio for good in a spatial context, just like we are used to listen to sound in the real physical world. - Cover artwork by Durk van der Meer (@durkatwork)
